Kentucky Hornestone
Hornestone Spalls  This is the famous Hornestone flint from Kentucky. Workability is excellent! It can be used for gun flints, fire strikers or knapping. The color is generally a blackish blue with some pieces having brown. It is a raw stone which needs NO heat treating. Most pieces are in the 4" length range with some larger pieces.

It's a bit more like heat treated flint as opposed to glass. Spalls range from 3-6" with an average of 5".
